DAMMAM, 8 May 2005 — King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and Jiwa Training Center (JTC) are jointly organizing their first seminar related to the executives development program, at the university premises here on May 16.
“Three-hundred delegates from across the Kingdom will attend the program,” JTC Managing Director Zaidan Al-Zaidan, told Arab News yesterday. “Participants are all top business executives from leading national and multinational companies.
Tom Peters, the “guru of gurus of management” will give his presentation at this most important corporate gathering under the theme “Re-imagining leadership.”
Peters, a top management thinker and provocateur, virtually invented the post-modern corporation. He explores radical ways of overcoming outdated, traditional company values, and embraces an aggressive strategy that empowers talent and brand-driven organizations.
His book “In Search of Excellence” has been named as one of the top three business books of the century.
Every decade, Peters shakes the world markets and the global business landscape.
His books “In Search of Excellence” in 1982 was the first shock, “Liberation Management” in 1992 was the second shock, and “Re-Imagine” in October 2003 the new shock.
“Peters has contributed so significantly to shaping the thinking of business managers throughout this period that he is as close to a household name as a distinguished thinker, speaker and writer in the field of business,” Al-Zaidan said.
“Peters is not afraid of speaking his mind and has often surprised and delighted his audiences with his unconventional and original viewpoints. No wonder Business Week has called him business’ best friend and worst nightmare,” he added.
The daylong seminar, from 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., will have four sessions.
Its sponsors include Rikaz, Naizak, GBN, Almajdoui, and Yousef Ahmad Rashid A-Dossary & Bros. Co. Arab News and Al-Eqtisadiah are its media sponsors.
