ASIR, 10 May 2005 — Important officials visited a college in the southern part of the Kingdom and during lunch, a student was supposed to recite a poem welcoming the high-ranking official guests Okaz reported. Instead, the student recited a poem criticizing the college policy and lack of services provided to students, placing the college staff in a difficult position. The dean of the college contacted the student shortly afterward and threatened to punish him for what he had done. Ironically enough the student received a letter from one of the high-ranking visitors thanking him for being honest and open.
