RIYADH, 13 May 2005 — Saudi Arabia yesterday expressed “deep concern and indignation” over a media report that interrogators at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, desecrated the Holy Qur’an. “The Kingdom’s government urges the American authorities to conduct a quick investigation into these cases and take strong measures against those found responsible in a manner that prevents the recurrence of such acts and ensures respect for Muslim feelings all overt the world,” a Foreign Ministry statement said.
