DRIV3R, a third installment in the popular Driver series, once again places the player in the role of Tanner, an undercover cop attempting to infiltrate a car thief ring. In this review, we’ll take a close look at graphics, sounds, multiplayer and gameplay.
Graphics:
Although one might have aspect more in the pc version DRIV3R graphics are fairly impressive with beautiful detailed car, character and cut scenes. In addition, the physical engine is quite exceptional with Cars react realistically to damages. On the other hand, the environments are poorly detailed.
Score: 6.5/10
Sounds:
DRIV3R sounds on the other hand are decent. The voice acting is outstanding with the involvement of Michael Madsen and other actors. Sound effects and music are simply acceptable.
Score: 7/10
Multiplayer:
Multiplayer feature is not supported.
Score: N/A
Gameplay:
DRIV3R offers three single player modes: Undercover is simply the game’s story mode which will take you through the cities of Miami, Florida; Nice, France; and Istanbul, Turkey, Take a Ride and driving games. The controls are very awkward in every aspect. Although tanner can perform various moves, they tend to be jerky. The A.I is also awfully designed. Furthermore, the game is full bugs and crashes.
Score: 5/10
To finish off, with all the expectation DRIV3R turned to be a disappointment full of imperfection and terrible implantation. Although I’m a driver series diehard fan, I won’t recommend this game especially with the latest GTA installment spotted around the corner. It’s tragic to see such a fantastic game series end up in this fashion.
Overall Score: 6/10
