JEDDAH, 14 May 2005 — “Saudis and Terror, Cross-Cultural Views”, a book published recently by a group of Saudi and foreign writers, will be taught at American universities, according to Professor Ralph Salmi, a faculty member at California University’s Department of Political Science and National Security.
“We’ll use this valuable book to teach the subject of political violence,” Al-Jazirah daily quoted Salmi and Philip Seib, both American academics who have contributed articles to the book along with 25 others.
Salmi and Seib made this comment in messages they sent to Dr. Muhammed Al-Bishr, a Saudi political communication specialist who brought together 27 political thinkers, academics, journalists and writers from around the world to publish the book.
Seib, a journalism professor at Marquette Univeristy, said the book would serve as a good reference for researchers on political violence. There is a lack of reference books that deal with political violence with objectivity at US libraries.
