ALKHOBAR, 23 May 2005 — Manarat Al-Sharkia School held its 2005 graduation ceremony on Thursday. Among the graduates were 28 kindergarten students, including two sets of twins and one of triplets. From Grade 12, there were 19 graduates.
Emotional scenes were common as the 19 graduates expressed their joy and excitement at having finished one phase of their life and being about to begin the next. They thanked God, their parents and their teachers. With tears in their eyes, they also expressed hope, optimism and eagerness to embrace their future.
The girls were very elegant in their beige gowns and hats. They had pooled their money and had their gowns made locally. They also had special silver rings with the school monogram brought from Turkey where the price was more affordable than in the Kingdom. Mothers were presented with a single red rose by their graduating daughters.
Congratulating the graduates, Nimeh Al-Wahsh, the principal said: “You are unique and special. Graduating from high school signifies a state of maturity and self-reliance.”
Speaking on behalf of the director of the school, Saleh Al-Ghamdi, Vice Principal Fatima Shaheen said: “Graduating students are an asset to Manarat; wherever they go, they will contribute to the school’s good reputation.”
The 19 graduates will go to many countries — Egypt, United States, Canada, Pakistan and Bahrain — to continue their studies.
