JEDDAH, 29 May 2005 — The elementary school students of the American International School here enjoyed the annual Test Taking Fun Day Carnival, celebrating the taking of spring standardized tests.
The purpose of this exercise was to celebrate test taking instead of dreading it. Each day had a special theme. Students would dress according to a special test taking strategy.
For example, the “silent sock” day would see everyone being quiet while taking the test. Another theme was “Hats off to testing” in which students enjoyed wearing their favorite hats while they took tests.
Apart from dressing up each day, students participated in an aerobic session led by teachers and senior students prior to the tests.
The week proved great for all. Special thanks goes to Sheeba Askari and Grace Dektar for organizing the entire event. Patricia Temporini organized the aerobic sessions, and Pressy DeLeon provided the audio-visual aid. Jack Raven, AISJ principal at elementary section, supervised.
