JUBAIL, 4 June 2005 — The Indian Ministry of Human Resources Development is likely to announce more facilities for the non-resident Indian students, according to HRD state minister A. A. Fatmi. Fatmi made this announcement at the annual day function of the International Indian School, Jubail recently.
The minister said there was a need to have more Indian schools in the Kingdom, and the HRD would surely look into this. Fatmi praised the academic standards of the Indian schools in the Kingdom, while stressing the need of secular books to foster the concept of brotherhood among Indians.
The annual day function of IISJ was also attended by businessmen Nadeem Tarin, Ahmed Khonaini and Mubarak Bubshait from the Saudi Ministry of Education, foreign section.
Mazhar Yaqub, the principal, introduced the guests and gave a report on the academic achievement of the school in the current academic year. The chairman of the school managing committee, Dr. Suhail Ahmad, also presented a report on the school and congratulated the principal and teachers on the school’s results in the CBSE examinations.
He said the school will soon add 36 more classrooms. Later, the Indian minister, presented awards to the teachers, staff members and meritorious students of the school.
Vice Principal Dr. Naushad Ali presented teachers and students to the minister. The schoolchildren then presented a cultural program depicting various facets of Indian culture and traditions. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Saleem Khan, member and ex-chairman.
