JEDDAH, 5 June 2005 — A private entity has been established to offer services to businessmen from European Union (EU).

The objective of the Jeddah-based European Business Center (Euro-BC) is to help and assist European businessmen in achieving their joint business plans here,” Mohammad Azzam, president and chief executive officer of Euro-BC (The Family Est.), told Arab News yesterday.

Among Euro-BC’s plans is to organize European events and exhibitions across the Kingdom. “Plans will include organizing events related especially to business, medical and education, with the participation of experts and specialists from those countries,” he said.

The Euro-BC will also assist European companies, organizations and institutions to find their business counterparts here, help them establish their new ventures and even represent them officially and legally in this part of the world.

“This will be done in cooperation with major local companies that are specialized in law, financial consulting, and international accounting and audit,” he said.

The Euro-BC will have a women’s wing to help local businesswomen start their own ventures and find them their right European partners, Azzam said.

Euro-BC has also signed a representation contract with International Company for Sports Development (STADIA) for event management. STADIA, a partner and representative of more than 12 European companies, is an acknowledged entity in sports development and event management.

It provides specialized sports management, consulting, and training services for reputable clubs, companies, and organizations.

Azzam and STADIA’s board member Hossam Amr Leheta signed the agreement at a ceremony held at Jeddah InterContinental. Lehayta and Azzam held a meeting in this connection with Jeddah Marketing Board General Manager Emad Megharbil at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“The main objective is to promote sports within the Kingdom, by seeking to rebuild its infrastructure facilities, and upgrade its stadiums to international levels to be able to host and organize major events worldwide,” Azzam said.
