Petroleum Energy Co. Ltd. (PEC) has launched its new (Access) product in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East, which is designated for preventing explosions in the tanks and containers that contain flammable gases and liquids. “The main role of the new product is to prevent explosions of the tanks and the containers that contain flammable petrol materials and gases and to control the explosions resulting from the expansion of vapors of the boiling liquids,” Sulaiman Al-Suhaimi, high ranking official at Al-Suhaimi Group, said. He added that the new product helped welding the tanks that are exposed to high degree explosions without emptying their contents. “The Access system resists the collapse of tanks as a result of vibrations and reduces quantities of vapors released by the fuel tanks and the flames due to its temperature absorbing feature. PEC claims to have the sole agency for manufacturing and marketing anti-explosion Access products in the Middle East and has established a plant for manufacturing such products in Dammam in cooperation with an Austrian corporation, which is specialized in offering solutions for preventing explosions and safety systems.

Marafiq

Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (Marafiq) has joined the “Plan for the Planet” drive to commemorate this year’s World Environment Day. The Eastern Province unit of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) demonstrated its support to Marafiq’s celebration of the World Environment Day by setting up an exhibition at the company’s headquarters in Jubail Industrial City on Sunday. The head of the PME’s Environment Standard Section in the Eastern Province, Khaled Al-Rasheed, gave a presentation to senior Marafiq staff on the PME’s environmental protection activities. He also briefed the Marafiq management and senior staff members on various pieces of equipment and tools used in protecting marine life, and containing and clearing oil spills and other types of pollution. Al-Rasheed said he was overwhelmed by Marafiq’s response to the Kingdom’s environmental protection efforts. “Its commitment to environment protection is evident from its total involvement in the World Environment Day drive and the participation of all Marafiq divisions,” he said. Earlier, general manager customer services and corporate communication at Marafiq, Hassan Al-Qeter, welcomed the PME officials and emphasized Marafiq’s commitment to protecting the environment. He pointed out that the worldwide drive for the protection of nature and the environment was a recent phenomenon, whereas Islam already put special emphasis on nature protection 1,400 years ago. This meant that the protection of nature was embedded in Saudi society, he said. Radhi Al-Amir, general manager corporate compliance at Marafiq, outlined the company’s environmental policy and said it was determined to generate greater environmental awareness among Marafiq employees, their families and other stakeholders.

Kids can let their imaginations run riot on the JCB dumper truck, the quad bike or the country tractor. But when it is time to “go to the supermarket”, children will probably opt for the mini cooper or the classy cruiser. All they need now is a garage like Daddy’s. ELC has a range of pools, from covered baby pools to family activity pools. Most of the pools are covered, affording protection from the sun, but when you get tired of using them with water, you can also move them indoors and fill them with colored balls from ELC. When the weather really heats up, it may be time to move indoors. ELC provides a variety of toys to keep children playfully absorbed indoors and at the same time learn through play. As ELC’s motto is “Learning through Play”, its toys promote children’s development, through puzzles, craft kits, musical instruments, costumes and leapfrog books. ELC’s popular action and adventure range includes favorites like the Knights’ Castle, the Pirate Ship and wooden garages.
