JEDDAH, 7 June 2005 — Saudi Telecom Company announced yesterday that it was adding 1.2 million mobile lines to its GSM network in order to expand its sphere of service. The additional lines bring the total to nearly 12 million lines. Khaled Al-Mulhem, STC's president, said the company's new mobile expansion project, covering 95 percent of residential areas, would include high speed Internet service. The new project will increase the number of STC's mobile phone towers to 7,000.
