Silent Hunter 3 Ubisoft’s latest installment of the critically acclaimed Silent Hunter series puts you in command of a submarine or a U-boat with its crew during the World War II scenario patrolling the deep oceans surround Europe and southern America. The German U-boats played a major role in the German domination and in the famous Battle of the Atlantic during WW II but suffered severe losses due to the cracking of the famous enigma codes. The estimated losses were put around 750 U-boats and 30,000 sailors. In this review we’ll take a look at graphics, sounds, multiplayer and Gameplay.

Graphics:

Silent Hunter 3 possesses wonderful graphics. Everything in the game is historically designed and modeled accurately. The submarine’s anterior structure is fantastically put together. The visual effects are wonderfully executed and the water effects are supremely animated.

Sounds:

One of the best features of the Silent Hunter is sound. The music score wonderfully fits the atmosphere. The sound effects are also well prepared, from the sound of the machinegun fire to when you dive under the ocean.

Multiplayer:

Silent Hunter 3 supports up to 8 players over your LAN or 4 over the Internet. Players can choose from scripted missions taken from the game, or generated missions taken from the campaign data.

Score: 9/10

Gameplay:

Silent Hunter 3 single player modes consist of Campaign and single mission. Players can choose their sailors, captains and submarine types and are in charge of various tasks during the course of the game as a commander of the submarine. The tasks include planning routes and courses, firing torpedoes, planning timeframe for the sailors and much more. Overall, the best feature of the game.

To finish off, Silent Hunter 3 has a fantastic gameplay with awesome realism and immersive Gameplay. Silent Hunter 3 is definitely highly recommend to simulator/action genre fans and it’s game you shouldn’t miss.
