RIYADH, 11 June 2005 — The director of examinations at the Ministry of Education has said that the results of secondary school exams for both boys and girls all over the Kingdom will be announced on Thursday (June 16). The results will be posted on the ministry’s website www.moe.gov.sa.
More than 300,000 high-school students took their exams Kinngdomwide last week.
The ministry has appointed 890 teachers to evaluate the answers of 34,829 students in the Riyadh region alone.
Some Islamic section students were apprehensive over losing marks in the English exam which they thought was beyond their capabilities. And many students in the science stream came out of their math exam upset over the difficult questions many of which, they said, were not in the syllabus.
Saad Al-Dossary, Islamic section student in Riyadh, said: “The English exam was very difficult and the time allotted was not enough to answer all of the questions”.
Khaled Al-Wadani, a science student, said the math questions were above their levels and most of them came from outside the syllabus.
Asked for his comment, Saleh Al-Hadlag, deputy chief of boys high school examination center, said there was no need to panic. He felt that what was important now is that students should focus more on future.
