JEDDAH, 14 June 2005 — Three Saudi youths have now made it into the music world with their album entitled “Relax.”
They chose old and new English, Spanish, Lebanese and Arabic songs and came up with an album of 12 tracks of soft and soothing instrumental music in both cassette and compact disc (CD).
The trio is electronic keyboard man Bandar Khalid, pianist Khalid Waheed and guitarist Khalid Barzanji.
“We’re immensely pleased with the outcome and are planning a new album and may even consider a video in the future,” said Bandar Khalid who is also a pianist.
The tracks are old songs, refreshingly played by the trio who have added their own touches and style.
The album features works from Beethoven, Yanni, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Lionel Ritchie, the Backstreet Boys as well as some Spanish and Lebanese hits.
The tracks are: “As Long As You Love Me” “Show Me The Meaning,” “Adagio,” and “All At Once” by Bandar Khalid as lead player; “La Player,” “La Solinzara,” “One Day In Your Life,” and “Hello” by Khalid Barzanji; and “Moonlight Melody,” “La Mosh Ana,” “Moonlight Sonata,” and “Shayef El Bahar” by Khalid Waheed.
“You will love to listen and then listen again,” said Bandar Khalid, an MBA from King Abdul Aziz University.
Already on the market are 5,000 cassettes and 1,000 CDs.
“We hope to get a better response from music lovers once the current exams are over,” Khalid Barzanji said.
He is a school counselor at Muhammad ibn Ali School and plays a variety of instruments, though guitar is his first choice.
Waheed has been playing the piano since his school days and now performs regularly at four restaurants. He is involved in music on a full-time basis because, as he says, “I just love it.”
Music is a passion for all three and they have plans to present live shows in Dubai, Kuwait and Lebanon.
