JEDDAH, 15 June 2005 — The Labor Ministry yesterday urged the appointment of Saudis as supervisors in gas stations, car service centers and shops. “We’ll not issue visas to any organization unless it employs Saudis as supervisors,” the Saudi Press Agency quoted the ministry as saying.

The ministry also announced a plan to fully nationalize jobs in gas stations and car service centers, adding that the plan would be implemented first at stations located in residential areas.

The agency said the ministry had been successful in creating jobs for more than 25,000 Saudis in the private sector in the past three months.
