CAIRO, 30 June 2005 — The board of governors of World Bank approved a $2 billion Aid for Egypt to support investments in infrastructure education, poverty alleviation and financial reforms. Egypt, the most populous country in the Middle East with a population of more than 70 million, is facing a 12 percent of unemployment, while the poverty rate is on the rise.
