JEDDAH, 1 July 2005 — Eritrean expatriates organized a cultural festival at their consulate recently. A cultural troupe from Asmara staged a variety of programs for two days in the presence of Eritrean Ambassador Mahmoud Ali Hurui and Consul General Abdulrahman Osman. A seminar on the country’s socio-economic development with particular reference to the Warsai-Yikalo” project, preceded the event. Hagos Ghebrehiwot, the visiting head of economic affairs, highlighted the pace at which the country was progressing in agro-industry, education and youth development. He urged the community to respect the law of their host country and remain united and committed to the welfare of their countrymen. The community commended their government’s efforts in safeguarding the security and territorial integrity of their country.
