JEDDAH, 12 July 2005 — The Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB) announced mid-year 2005 profits of SR490.4 million, compared with the same period last year of SR293.9 million. The stock profit also increased to SR14.27 from SR8.55 per share for the same period. The bank managed to increase its income both through its service fees, which increased by 83 percent compared with the same period last year to reach SR689.8 million, and through its foreign currency trade which increased to SR23.6 million compared to SR10.5 million last year. The bank’s total investments increased by 40.9 percent and customer’s deposits by 69.4 percent leading to an increase in the bank’s size by 53.4 percent to SR34.05 million from SR22.2 million.
