JEDDAH, 20 July 2005 — The Saudi Electric Company (SEC) found an easier system for customers to pay bills by equal monthly installments so that the high summer bills become less of a problem for limited income families, reported Al-Madinah newspaper. This system allows an individual to pay a consistent monthly installment which is the average of their monthly consumption during the last year based on the meter reading. At the end of the year a comparison is made between what was paid in monthly installments and the actual consumption value and if there is a difference, he will be compensated and if the company is owed the amount will be included in the following year’s installments.
