JEDDAH, 22 July 2005 — The General Organization for Retirees began implementing its first investment project to establish buildings for pilgrims on the slops of the mountains in Mina, reported Al-Watan newspaper. Prince Miteb Ibn Abdul Aziz, minister of municipal and rural affairs and the president of the Makkah and Madinah and Holy Sites Development Authority, signed the agreement with the president of the organization. Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Dr. Habib Zain Al-Abdin said that the project costs SR250 million and the first phase will hold around 25,000 pilgrims. The organization has already begun making the designs for the project which pilgrims are expected to benefit from in this year’s Haj.
