Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the latest installment of the award winning GTA series puts you in boots of Carl Johnson AKA CJ who escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos; San Andreas. The Storyline sets off with CJ required to come back to bury his murdered mother. On his arrival, CJ gets involved in police corruption and is thrown back into the corrupt and dangerous world that he left in Los Santos. In this review, we’ll explore Graphics, Sounds, Multiplayer and Gameplay.
Graphics:
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’s graphics are the best looking in all available versions. The PC version permits the user to increase the graphics’ level and view distance. The buildings and structures in the cities are well detailed with high skyscrapers, traffic, gangs and street signs. The characters’ models are better polished although appear blocky. Score: 9/10
Sounds:
Sounds truly shine in GTA: SA. The voice acting is one of the best, if not the best ever seen in the gaming industry thanks to the famous Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Penn and the rest of the cast. In addition, the music is an excellent mix from the 90’s that evokes feelings and memories from that era. Furthermore, Players are able to create their own station, a feature available in PC version. The sound effects are decent and up to standard. Overall, sounds are excellent. Score: 9.5/10
Multiplayer:
Multiplayer feature is not available in GTA: SA.

Gameplay:
Even though GTA: SA is similar to its predecessors, new and creative features are included. To begin with, the city is made of three metropolitan areas: Los Santos, Los Venturas and San Fierro all connected by vast roads. The last two cities will be unlocked when players progress in missions. In addition, players are able to create their character’s personality and appearance with variety of clothes, muscle build-up or even a hairstyle. Moreover, GTA: San Andreas has tons of mini games such as basketball challenges, race tournaments or arcade games. Also, the game’s controls are the best of all versions. The keyboard and mouse combination will provide the player precision and accuracy of a hitman. Lastly, the storyline is well scripted and written.

To finish off, even though the graphics are not up to PC standards which the restricted PS2 takes the blame for, GTA: SA still delivers the good in most aspects and provide hours of action and fun. The game is highly recommended to GTA series lovers and action avid fans.
