JEDDAH, 10 August 2005 — Bangladesh International School’s (English section) Osama Mohammad Ali secured eight A* in all the eight subjects he appeared in the IGCSE O Levels examinations for 2005.
The school’s performance, both in the O and A levels, has been excellent and the school’s governing board Chairman Abdur Rouf Bhuiyan was proud of the school’s remarkable results.
“I’m happy about this year’s results and, the incremental success over the last four years shows that the school is turning into one of the best schools,” he said.
All 25 students who appeared for the O Levels passed, with this year’s result being better by 30 percent. There were 98 A* and As with 80 Bs recorded in the examinations. The 16-yer-old Osama was followed by Mahfouz Maleque and Pushpo Babul Hossain in that order. In the A levels (science section), 17-year-old Waqas Hasan Khan logged four As and two Bs to stand first among the 13 people who took the exams.
Two students were unsuccessful while the remaining 11 scored well. There were nine As. In the A levels (commerce section), seven took the examinations and one student failed. Abdullah D. Bhuiyan with three As and a C stood first.
