TAIF, 12 August 2005 — A fight erupted between a mother and daughter over a groom who came to ask for the daughter’s hand in marriage and later changed his mind and wanted to marry the mother, Al-Madinah newspaper reported. It started when the young man came to ask for the 17-year-old daughter’s hand in marriage. When he sat with her, he was impressed by the beauty of the mother and changed his mind that day and asked the mother for her hand in marriage instead. The daughter got upset and demanded that her mother refuse the man because he originally came for her. The mother told her daughter to wait for someone else and that this man was hers. Every effort by the daughter to change her mother’s mind failed.
