JEDDAH, 24 August 2005 — Four matches were played on Monday in the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Cup soccer tournament with Al-Hilal winning the derby match against Al-Nasr 2-0 at the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd stadium in Riyadh.

Both sides played a fast-paced game but Hilal’s performance was much better than Nasr in the attacking line. Hilal striker Muhammad Al-Anbar scored the first goal in the 10th minute.

Nasr, with their spirits down, tried to come back to the game but Hilal pegged them back in the half side of the field. Hilal’s second goal came in the 55th minute courtesy of Ahmad Al-Suwaileh. The win gives Hilal the Group A lead with 7 points and Nasr remains third with 2 points.

In another Group A match, Al-Ansar of Madinah crushed Al-Qadisiya of Khobar 6-2 in Madinah. Qadiseya was first to score in the 3rd minute by Yousif Salem making it the fastest goal so far in the competition.

Al-Ansar equalized in the 15th minute through Hawsawi. Qadisiya went 2-1 up with a 32nd minute strike by Saleh Al-Gunayem only for Ansar to quickly pull back in the 38th minute with a marker by Al-Harbi.

Ansar then imposed their authority in the second half with a four-goal spree that featured strikes by Hawsawi in the 49th minute, Haroon in the 50th, Al-Harbi in the 65th and Muaz in the 90th minute.

Ansar are now second with 4 points and Qadisiya last with 2 points.

In Group C, Jeddah’s Al-Ittihad broke a two-game losing spell and beat Al-Wehda of Makkah 4-3. Ittihad goals were scored by Muhammad Amin in the 18th minute, Hirara in 26th, Al-Shamrani in the 29th and Osama Al-Muwallah in the 61st minute. Essa Al-Muhayyani in the 30th and 32nd minutes and Kazdai in the 90th minute were the goal scorers at Wehda. Abha scored another big win against Al-Ittifaq of Dammam 1-0 in Dammam. Muhammad Amer scored the only goal of the match came in the 72nd minute. With 6 points from two matches, Abha are on top of the group, while Ittifaq is second with 4 points.
