RIYADH, 6 October 2005 — International schools in the Kingdom have been asked to transfer their female teachers to their own sponsorship in the interest of maintaining the standard of education.
An official from the Ministry of Education said that women staff in international schools were causing problems by frequently changing their places of employment.
This has been possible since they are not being sponsored by the schools which employ them. The official said that the ministry would provide visas to international schools to help them solve the problem as it has an adverse impact on the students’ studies.
In another development, Moyyid Al-Gahtani, supervisor of international schools at the Ministry of Education, announced that after Ramadan a sporting event involving international schools would take place in Riyadh.
He made the announcement at a prize distribution ceremony involving all the CBSE-affiliated schools in the Kingdom. The principals of all the schools, including Manzar Jamal Siddiqui, principal of the International Indian School-Riyadh, and Muhammad Anwar, principal, International Indian School-Dammam, were among those attending.
Al-Gahtani paid tributes to the international schools for their initiative in organizing the event and said the ministry would arrange a similar event on a larger scale. He also praised the principals for maintaining the standards of their schools and abiding by the ministry’s rules and regulations.
