MAKKAH, 7 October 2005 — Capacity utilization have reached 70% in hotels, apartments, and residential quarters around Makkah in the first week of Ramadan. Reservations reached 100% to the middle of the month. The reservations are focused on the area surrounding the Haram. Reservations started in the middle of Shaaban. The average price of each bed was SR150. This price continues to the end of Ramadan. Reservations are made for three or four people a night as capacity utilization is on the rise and so are prices. This resulted from the increase in the number of people hoping to spend days of Ramadan in Makkah. The Organization of Pilgrim Hosts from Non-Arab Africans chief Abdulwahed Saif Aldin said that the capacity utilization has reached 70%.
