JEDDAH, 11 October 2005 — The Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry yesterday announced plans to establish a charitable blood bank in the Asir region with the support of businessmen and philanthropists.
Abdullah ibn Saeed Al-Mubti, chairman of the chamber’s board of directors, said the bank would supply blood free of charge to patients at public and private hospitals.
The project has received the support and encouragement of Asir Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Mubti said, adding that the blood bank would be established soon.
Mufti called upon businessmen to support charitable and social projects in order to contribute to the welfare and prosperity of society.
He said the Abha chamber was studying a number of charitable projects to implement them with the support of businessmen.
