MAKKAH, 11 October 2005 — The General Presidency for the Holy Mosques Affairs has equipped the gates of the holy mosque with illuminated indicators that give an idea about the size of the crowd inside, said Ahmed Abbas, the general manager of the gate-keeping department at the holy mosque. The doors will show green to signal pilgrims that there is space inside the area behind. If the light is red it means there is capacity crowd in the area. The gate-keeping department is working overtime to prevent Umrah pilgrims from bringing food and drinks into the mosque.
