MAKKAH, 28 August 2006 — The National Commercial Bank (NCB) recently signed an agreement with the Umm Al-Qura University here to hold a computer workshop, which is aimed to enable students use computers during their studies.
NCB’s Community Service Unit Head Mahmoud Al-Turkistani and Umm Al-Qura University’s participated in the signing ceremony.
Al-Turkistani said the agreement was part of the bank’s commitment toward social welfare activities, as well as supporting educational institutions. “This move is part of the Al-Ahli educational program, which is one of the bank’s community service activities that aim to support the educational sector across the Kingdom,” he added. The agreement is also part of several such contracts that will be signed with colleges to hold six computer workshops during the current year.
In the past years, the bank conducted seven computer workshops at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, four at King Saud University in Riyadh and others at King Khaled University in Abha, King Faisal University in Al-Ahsa and the General Administration Institute in Riyadh.
Umm Al-Qura University head Dr. Nasser Al-Salih referred to the bank’s commitment toward its social responsibilities in general and support extended to Umm Al-Qura University in particular and lauded its track record of assisting government institutions over the years.
