JEDDAH, 30 August 2006 — In its diverse activities to promote the message of dialogue in society, the King Abdul Aziz National Dialogue Center completed a training workshop for women in Abha this week.
The aim of the workshop was to help women teachers hone their communication skills. The center worked with the local education officials to help teachers develop their techniques in constructive dialogue.
Wafa Al-Tuwaijri, manager of the women’s section at the center, said that more than 120 women teachers from the Asir region attended the workshop.
Al-Tuwaijri added that the women’s section at the center is planning to run 10 more workshops throughout the Kingdom by the end of September with the Ministry of Health. It is expected that 300 women participants will attend these workshops.
That is the second time that the dialogue center has cooperated with the Ministry of Education. The first time was last summer at the summer youth clubs.
The dialogue center aims to engage Saudi society in constructive debate regarding myriad topics that affect all Saudis, such as relations with the outside world, cultural diversity within the Kingdom, issues affecting the youth and inter-Muslim relations.
