ABU DHABI, 6 November 2006 — Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference 2006 (ADIPEC) was inaugurated yesterday at Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Center by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdulla ibn Zayed Al Nahyan. ADIPEC, the largest event of its kind in the Middle East, attracts the participation of 1,250 exhibitors from 51 countries, and is scheduled to end on Nov. 8. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sheikh Sultan ibn Tahnoon Al Nahyan, chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Mohammad ibn Dha’en Al Hameli, UAE minister of energy, Yousef Omeir ibn Yousef, secretary-general of the Supreme Petroleum Council and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation (ADNOC), Mohammad Al-Ramahi, Oman’s Petroleum minister, and a number of VIPs, experts and specialists in gas and oil sector
