DAMMAM, 15 August 2006 — The Dammam Civil Defense has banned games deemed unsafe in amusement parks. The civil defense will hold a meeting with the owners of the amusement cities shortly to discuss the ways to stop the frequent accidents to which children are being exposed in amusement parks, an official of the Civil Defense said. The official was also critical of the attitude of the Qatif municipality, which did not collaborate with the government departments, Okaz reported yesterday.

Death by Hanging for Two Saudis

AMMAN, 15 August 2006 — A criminal court in Amman condemned recently two Saudis, who killed a compatriot in 2003, to death by hanging, Okaz newspaper reported yesterday. The first accused was the murdered man’s business partner while the second accused, nephew of the partner, was an employee in the their factory. The victim had complained to police that the nephew was stealing money from the factory and he was subsequently punished. This fact made the nephew and the first accused conspire against and kill the other man by taking him to a lonely place and shooting him.
