RIYADH, 7 November 2006 — A nurse at a local government hospital in Riyadh made a funny mistake when she injected medicine into the wrong person, the Al-Riyadh newspaper reported yesterday. The mistake happened when a sick girl arrived at the hospital accompanied by her mother. The nurse took the sick daughter and her mother into a room to undergo testing when another nurse came into the room with an injection in her hand. Thinking the patient was the mother, the nurse asked the mother for her arm at which the mother rolled up her sleeve assuming she was being given a free vaccination. After giving the injection, the nurse realized that she had made a mistake and took the mother for a medical checkup in case of side effects. Luckily the mother was not negatively affected and the nurse was given a strict telling off.
