NAGPUR, 6 September 2006 - Two Muslims were arrested yesterday in Beed district of Maharashtra for their alleged involvement in attack on the Rashtriya Sewak Sangh (RSS) headquarters three months ago in which three suspected militants were killed.
The police charged the accused under different sections of the Indian Penal Code and interrogated them throughout the day. A case was registered against the two in the Kotwali police station.
The two suspects have been identified as Muhammed Idris Muhammed Bashiruddin and Ausaf Usman Sheikh. Their name figured during the course of investigation in the attack on the RSS headquarters.
The police had seized some inflammatory literature and material from the bodies of the three slain militants and during investigations some clues pointed toward the involvement of some people from Beed.
