AHSA, 8 August 2006 — Saudi director Hisham Al-Abdi recently completed shooting his new TV serial “The Price of Emotions,” the story of Mariam, a young Saudi wife living with an aged husband.
Ghadah Al-Bishr wrote the story and script of the film in which Egyptian actress Wafa Makki plays the role of young Mariam.
Hisham said this is his second collaboration with Ghadah after the successful short film “Qarqian Mubarak” that was aired on the Flash TV channel recently.
In “The Price of Emotions,” Mariam is the product of a broken family whose father and mother went their separate ways following their divorce, leaving the children with a confused emotional life.
No ‘Sharonism’ Until Lebanon Heat Cools
KUWAIT, 8 August 2006 — Kuwaiti film actor Dawood Hussein plans to produce a film satirizing Israeli leaders. “Sharonism” will focus comically on the activities of the former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and several other high profile Israeli officials, the Al-Watan daily reported yesterday.
“I will also continue to produce satirical works on a number of Israeli officials, including Ehud Olmert and his defense minister. It will, of course, be after the situation in Lebanon returns to normalcy,” Hussein said. The popular Kuwaiti comedian added that it was very hard for him to present anything funny while countless children and women in Lebanon were reeling under a savage Israeli bombardment.
