JEDDAH, 8 August 2006 — Students of Pakistan International School-English Section (PISJ-ES) achieved outstanding results in IGCSE “O” and “A” level exams in the academic year 2006 conducted by the University of Cambridge, England, according to Saher Kamran, the school’s director finance and administration.
Its top achievers secured “A” grades in all subjects. A grade is considered to be the highest in “A” level exam.
“It’s a matter of great pleasure that the students of PISJ-ES have set new records by producing 99.9 percent results with excellent grades,” said Saher.
Anam Kamran achieved first position securing “A” grades in all four “A” level subjects, followed by Basma Altaf, who got A’s in all of her three selected subjects, Sarah Ahmad opted for four subjects and secured 3 A’s and 1 B, and Saba Shahnawaz and Mosa Sohail both got A’s in all three subjects.
This year’s results range from 80 to 100 percent, as against last year’s 76 to 80 percent. Students who appeared in the advanced subsidiary (AS) exam this year also performed well and obtained 100 percent results in all of their papers.
They include Abdul Musawir, Ahmad Tahir, Ahsan Kamran, Ainan Siddiqui.
In reference to “O” level results, the students performed extraordinarily well and the number of A+ and A grades turned out to be highest A’s compared to all the previous years. Syeda Mehrunnisa made history, as she not only secured first position in IGSCE (‘O’ Level) but also obtained 9 A+ and 2 A’s in school’s history.
Farhan Bukhari appeared in seven subjects and got 6 A+ and 1 A; Asnia Shah 6 A+, 4 A’s and 1 B; Zainub Qazi 5 A+, 5 A’s and 1 B; Areej Ishtiaq Malik 4 A+, 4 A’s & 1 B; Muhammad Saad Raiz 4 A+ and 4 A’s; Syed Ziauddin 4 A+, 2 A’s and 2 B’s; Huda Idress Kanwar 3 A+, 5 A’s and 1 B and Mustafa Noor 3 A+, 4 A’s and 1 B.
The result shows that the academic standard of the school is reaching a new high due to the hard work and devotion of the teachers, said Saher.
