JEDDAH, 22 October 2006 — The Supreme Judiciary Council announced yesterday that tomorrow, Monday, is the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, the celebration marking the end of fasting in Ramadan.
“As nobody has sighted the Shawwal crescent on Saturday evening, Sunday is the 30th day of Ramadan and Monday, Oct. 23, is the first day of Eid Al-Fitr,” the council said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
