RIYADH, 30 March 2006 — Prince Alwaleed ibn Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) received at his office Lee Kuan Yew, minister mentor of Singapore, and his accompanying delegation here on Monday.
The minister and his delegation were given a tour of Kingdom projects including Kingdom City, Panda and Herfy chains, Kingdom Schools, Kingdom Hospital and Kingdom Center.
The delegation included the minister’s wife, Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan, Minister of Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Environment and Water Resources Dr. Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Education Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Minister in the Prime Minister’s office Raymond Lim Siang Keat.
The prince and Yew acknowledged the strong relations existing between the two countries. They discussed social and economic issues and investment opportunities available in Singapore.
Prince Alwaleed referred to the influential role Singapore plays on world economy. “Singapore is a developed country with advanced health, education and human resources sectors,” the prince said.
