JEDDAH, 1 April 2006 — A 20-strong trekking team under the global trekker Abdul Majeed Al-Dosari is scheduled to be flagged off today from here carrying the message of the love for the Prophet, peace be upon him, with the logo “Anyone Except the Messenger of Allah.” The destination of the nine-day journey is Madinah.
“The objective of the hike is to drive deep the message that the Saudi youth, who represent the heart of the Muslim community, are not able to tolerate any defamation of the Prophet because he is the greatest personality in the history of humanity,” he said. “Everyone should respect all religions and their prophets.”
“We are traveling on foot because we want to pass through the maximum number of towns and villages and meet the people there to take to them the message,” he said.
The journey from Jeddah to Makkah would take two days while the onward journey to Madinah would be completed in a week.
Al-Dosari has walked through Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Yemen. He has covered 45,000 kilometers over a period of 36 months.
