RABAT, 1 September 2006 — The highly anticipated historical movie “Andalus” will be shot in Morocco, the director of the movie, Khaled Yusuf, told the Al-Watan daily yesterday.

The story revolves around the fall of Andalus to the Arabs and the ensuing clash between the Arabs and the Spaniards for the control of southern Spain.

Egyptian actress Yusra will play the Spanish queen Isabella, Hollywood actor Omar Sharif will play Fernando, the Spanish commander. The cast includes Nabila Obaid, Yahya El-Fakhrani, Nur El-Sherif, Sherif Munir, Ahmad Ezz, Hani Salama and Ahmad Al-Saqa.
