JEDDAH, 3 April 2006 — An expatriate worker was murdered at a commercial enterprise in Jeddah and SR1 million was stolen on Tuesday. The body was found in an unused well two days later, Al-Eqtisadiah daily reported yesterday.
Police arrested three men who were believed to have committed the crime. The thieves broke into the building on King Abdul Aziz Street at the time of the Isha prayer and took the large sum of money they found in the safe. They killed the cashier, Amir Ali from the south Indian state of Kerala, and threw the body in an unused well behind the Caravan Shopping Center on Hail Street.
On that particular evening, the cashier remained in the office to collect money from the company’s late-coming distributors.
The report said the body had marks indicating that the victim had been strangled. The police are looking for a fourth suspect, the newspaper said.
