JEDDAH, 4 April 2006 — A clever young lady lured a thief specialized in women’s handbags and cell phones helped police arrest him in a crowded street in Makkah recently, Al-Watan reported yesterday. The thief had picked her friend’s handbag in which she had put her expensive mobile phone and other things. The man started calling her friends whose numbers were saved on the phone and offer his unsolicited company in a vulgar language. The clever woman however decided to teach him a lesson that he would never forget. She told the man that she would like to meet him and fixed a place and time for the rendezvous. Next thing she did was to telephone the police who promised to do everything to lay a trap for the man. Everything went as scheduled. The police in plainclothes were ready at their posts and the young lady waiting for the man. The unsuspecting thief in his best clothes walked in to the trap and before he could learn what was happening the police overpowered him and led to the nearest police station.
