JEDDAH, 4 April 2006 — An old man was luckily saved from a swindler about to make good with his savings of SR15,000 (approximately $4,000) at a bank in Baljusrhi in the south of the Kingdom, according to Al-Riyadh newspaper. When the senior citizen was fumbling for the deposit form at the bank, a good-looking young man approached him offering him. The old man was impressed by this youth’s politeness. The elderly man told him that he had some money to deposit in his account but he did not know to read and write. Immediately the youth offered him to help and filled up the deposit forms but wrote his own account number in the form, not the old man’s. Then he gave the form to the old man who took the money to the counter. But the official at the counter discovered the deception when he noticed that the name and account number written on the form did not match the identity papers of the old man. Sensing that his deception was going to be discovered, the youth took to heels before anyone could do anything.
