ABHA, 4 April 2006 — The body of a policeman, who was washed away in flash floods in Tanuma, a small town 110 kilometers north of Abha, was recovered yesterday morning, according to a Civil Defense official.

While police Sgt. Muhammad Al-Shahari and his colleague of the Tanuma police station were crossing a nearby valley, floodwaters carried away their car, said Maj. Gen. Saad Al-Harithy, director general of Civil Defense in Asir. The second policeman was rescued.
