JEDDAH, 4 April 2006 — A five-member Chinese media delegation, currently visiting the Kingdom, has expressed its admiration over the progress achieved by the country.

The delegation, accompanied by Prince Amr Al Faisal and Princess Reem Al Faisal, visited King Abdul Aziz University, Dar Al-Hekma College, Manarat Schools, Arab News headquarters and offices of some Arabic newspapers in Jeddah.

“The visit has totally changed our perception about Saudi Arabia,” said Zhang Xing Hui, deputy director of international news at China Youth Daily.

Chen Ke Qin, senior correspondent of Guangming Daily, said he was impressed by the modern educational facilities at Saudi colleges and schools.

“I was getting distorted information about Saudi Arabia as a result of reading Western media reports,” said Shi Jiangmin, a journalist from People’s Daily.

The delegation members said they would carry their good impressions about Saudi Arabia to their people back home in order to change their impression about the Kingdom.

The delegation will leave for Riyadh today and visit some newspaper offices and government departments there.
