RIYADH, 5 April 2006 — Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) Chairman Prince Alwaleed ibn Talal received at his office yesterday Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CSCCI) Chairman Abdul Rahman Al-Rashid and Secretary-General Dr. Fahad ibn Saleh Al-Sultan. The meeting was also attended by KHC’s Ahmad ibn Fahad Altobaishi, assistant executive to the chairman, and Manal Alshammary and Roaa Sharaf from the protocol department.

CSCCI chairman congratulated Prince Alwaleed on receiving the medal of “Legion of Honor,” with the rank of Commander by French President Jacques Chirac at an official ceremony held at the Élysée Palace in Paris. The members of the CSCCI expressed their admiration of the role of Prince Alwaleed’s major investments in promoting a positive image of Saudis, the Kingdom, and of Arabs and Muslims in general. Prince Alwaleed and his guests discussed the recent flow of the Saudi stock market along with other social and economic issues.

Toward the end of the meeting, Al-Rashid requested a contribution from the prince in order to complete the erection of the new CSCCI building in the capital. The construction is presently made possible by the private financial support of a group of Saudi businessmen. Al-Rashid commended the prince’s renowned generosity and explained that as a prominent semi-government division, which deals with numerous foreign entities, the building’s well-designed appearance is essential.
