BHOPAL, 6 April 2006 — In the financial year 2005-06 Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal unit has recorded a turnover of Rs.18,250 million (about $409.3 million) which is not only 19 percent higher than the previous year but highest ever since its inception. The profit before tax was also a new time high of Rs.2,220 million (about $49.7 million). Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday on the completion of the financial year, P.T. Deo, executive director, BHEL, Bhopal unit was highlighting the achievements of the unit. He also informed that the target for the fiscal year 2006-07 has been fixed as Rs.23,300 million (about $522.5 million).
