JEDDAH, 5 November 2006 — The Saudi Law Training Center will hold the second Saudi Arbitration Assembly in Islamic and International Perspectives in Alkhobar from Nov. 21 to 23.
The assembly will be held with the support of Prince Dr. Bandar ibn Salman Al-Saud, adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and head of the Saudi Arbitration Assembly.
“The assembly targets arbitrators, judges, lawyers and other law and economic experts,” said Majed Garoub, a lawyer and head of the organizing committee.
Among the 150 participants that will be attending are 30 speakers and experts in various public and private organizations.
The meeting will focus on the importance of law as a basic factor in local and foreign investments. It will discuss arbitration in industries such as oil, gas and energy, and in privatization. A workshop on arbitration in international business will also be held.
Garoub said the conference comes at a time when there is an economic boom and huge projects taking place in the Kingdom.
