JEDDAH, 8 April 2006 — Cairo police arrested an Egyptian driver in the triple-homicide of a Saudi, his Egyptian wife and Filipino maid, the Arabic daily Al-Madinah reported yesterday.
Muhammad Al-Bahansawi, 27, confessed on Saturday to the police that he murdered Nasser Al-Mae, 62, Al-Mae’s 35-year-old wife, Huda Ibrahim Ahmad, and Nana, the 22-year-old maid.
According to the prosecutors interviewed in the report, Al-Bahansawi said he committed the crime at the request of his aunt, who wanted her husband and maid murdered because she believed they were having an illicit affair.
“Aunt Huda called me on phone requesting me to help her kill her husband because he was going to marry the maid shortly,” Al-Bahansawi allegedly said to the police.
He said he killed his aunt because she became highly distressed after the murders. She was an incurable cancer patient.
According to the confession, Huda promised Al-Bahansawi the villa where the couple lived as his reward for the crime. She also promised that she would confess to the crime on a tape recorder, Al-Bahansawi said. The youth agreed and came to the villa at around 10 p.m. with the weapon.
According to the confession statement, he slit the throat of the sleeping old man and then killed the maid. However his aunt began to cry aloud at the horrible sight of the bleeding bodies.
Fearing that her cries would alert the neighbors, the youth killed her as well, then fled the scene, taking with him one kilo of valuable jewelry and SR64,000 that he found in the villa.
The scorned wife’s brother, Abdul Munim Ahmad, allegedly informed the police that she had asked him to murder her husband soon after the couple had arrived in Cairo. But he said that he thought that he had successfully dissuaded her from pursuing such a plan.
