JEDDAH, 12 April 2006 — A security source told Arab News yesterday that the body found in a park in the Kilo 10 area of south Jeddah on Sunday was a 45-year-old Eritrean.
Police found personal documents on the dead man that revealed his identity. A police report confirmed that the man had committed suicide.
Police said that they determined that fingerprints from the shumagh (head scarf) belonged to the victim.
A Yemeni resident, who crossed the park as a short cut, found the dead man bound to a tree by his neck using a shumagh and informed the authorities.
